A Biomechanical Approach to the Treatment of Lower Extremity Dysfunction

This 2 day seminar is clinically orientated for health professionals involved in the treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine patients. The seminar will review lower extremity biomechanical and pathomechanical concepts. Strong emphasis will be placed on the relationships and interactions between the hip, knee, ankle, and foot during function and gait. These concepts will be applied during a discussion of the management of common painful syndromes such as HAV deformity, metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis, posterior tibialis dysfunction, achilles tendonitis, ankle sprains, patellofemoral syndrome and hip dysfunction. The course will cover manual therapeutic technique and functional training for the entire lower extremity. Shoe wear and orthotic therapy will be discussed as part of a comprehensive therapeutic program.
