This course is designed for health care professionals that want to begin a career in sleep diagnostics and who will be working under direct supervision with a RPSGT. This course can also provide a more solid understanding of the field of sleep medicine for technicians with minimal on the job training. Upon completion, the technician will be able to perform a polysomnogram with minimal supervision, understand and be able to recognize common sleep disorders, and have a basic knowledge the following:
This course is designed to provide the 29 set standards by the AASM for the initial training and education for technician entering the field of sleep medicine. Upon completion the technician will have a comprehensive knowledge of sleep diagnostics and analysis. They will be well prepared to start their journey towards achieving their RPSGT credential. This program includes 52 hours of classroom study and 28 hours of practical hands on application.
